We have an opportunity for a Solutions Architect to develop and implement systems architecture to meet client business needs. Your responsibilities will include gathering requirements and functional specifications, assessing the current software systems in place to identify areas in need of improvement, and overseeing development teams. You should also be able to regularly update the company on any developments in systems architecture projects.
You will work closely with the client and our delivery teams to translate business requirements into technical designs and solutions that satisfy the business needs. You will be technically driving the work, whilst researching new technologies to ensure we provide the most appropriate solution for the business.
To be successful in this role you should be able to integrate updated specifications and requirements into the systems architecture.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Building and integrating information systems to meet the company's needs
- Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it
- Resolving technical problems as they arise
- Providing supervision and guidance to development teams
- Continually researching current and emerging technologies, proposing changes where necessary
- Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented
- Assessing the business impact that different technical choices will have
- Providing updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets
- Proven experience in playing leading roles in architecting large scale business intelligence, data platform, system integration and application development projects.
- Ability to understand broad and high-level business needs and to transform these requirements into appropriate technology solutions.
- A strong background as a software developer and as a business analyst with experience in the full software development lifecycle.
- Familiar with the multiple technology stacks and have a solid background in related technologies including but not limited to databases, business intelligence, AI/ML, CI/CD and modern web development tools
- Extensive knowledge of a variety of technology platforms including cloud, web/application servers, middleware/integration engines, workflow/BPM engines and database systems.
- Broad knowledge and experience with key business processes and supporting enterprise applications e.g., ERP, CRM, asset management, document management etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work effectively with minimal and indirect supervision
- A broad understanding of information technology topics
- The ability to explain complex problems using non-complex terminology
- Effective interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability
- Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills
- Flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities
- Technically creative and open-minded
- Government industry experience highly regarded
