About the Role

 

As a Specialist, you will be accountable for delivery of general ledger accounting, period end close, reporting requirements for the Iron Ore to both internal and external stakeholders, and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Costing
 

Core Accountabilities
 

  • Coach team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of the deliverables.
  • Monitor the period end close process and ensure ledgers closed on time for monthly group management reporting.
  • Assist the preparation and review of general ledger reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial results reported.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of briefing papers & stewardship review for group management reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of Joint Venture Packs (JV) prior sending out to stakeholders in Perth.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Period End Close activities including Costing & Joint Venture Accounting.
  • Assist to review the Costing Module to ensure the appropriateness in terms of PEC hierarchy, allocation segments and cycles. 
  • Assist to review requests from Management Accounting team on the changes made to the Costing Module.
  • Coordinate delivery of internal and external audit requirements.
  • Support and contribute to the process improvement, simplification, and productivity measures
  • Striving for simplicity through identifying and focusing on those tasks that add the most value and stopping low-value work

About You

 

  • Degree qualification in accounting or finance
  • Professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA) either completion or currently pursuing
  • Good working experience with a large corporate or multinational shared service functions environment
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage deadlines, identify and resolve problems
  • Capability to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders to deliver value
  • Strong experience in SAP - inventory costing and materials ledger will be added advantage
  • Understanding of resources industry and mining operations is beneficial
  • Fluent English, both verbal and written
