About the Role

To support the effective implementation of current Indigenous Engagement Agreements and support the negotiation process of new Agreements with Traditional Owners across WAIO.

Your main accountabilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with members of the WAIO Indigenous Engagement team and others within the business to ensure the successful agreement negotiations, reviews and implementation.
  • Engage with Traditional Owners and representatives and other key stakeholders as a representative of BHP while upholding the highest level of adherence to Our Code of Conduct and Charter Values.
  • Administrative and secretarial support for the Negotiation and Review Teams.
  • Comply with relevant Ethics and Compliance approvals and requirements.
  • Support with document control for ILUA related documentation.
  • Execute relevant payments in line with approved process (including GCMS and 1SAP).
  • Logistical support for negotiation meetings, implementation committee meetings and other engagements as required, including meeting planning, travel, logistics and other items.
  • Receive, review, execute payments and holistic support for the end-to-end invoicing process with Traditional Owner Groups, in accordance with Agreement terms and approved internal process (including GCMS and 1SAP).
  • Document Control and confidentiality management for the Indigenous Engagement Team documents and correspondence.
  • Support correspondence, event management, registers and development of presentations when required.
  • Support the Indigenous Engagement Team when required.

About You

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:

  • Experience with collaboration tools, including file sharing security and structures (e.g., SharePoint, MS Teams)
  • Experience with BHP systems and processes, including GCMS, 1SAP, BHP compliance process and other BHP systems.
  • Experience or desire to work in Indigenous Engagement and/or Native Title context.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of people.
  • Finance and/or Budget management skills, with specific experience in invoicing and payment processes at BHP.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Qualifications in Project Management, Business or Commerce desirable.

Location

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square'. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.

You will be working on Monday-Friday roster. Flexible work is also offered. This role also requires some site travel to Pilbara.
