Form of work Hawkesbury District Health Service (HDHS) of is a modern, 125-bed integrated health service located at historic Windsor, in the north-west of Sydney, treating both private patients and public patients under contract to Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
Managed by St John of God Health Care, HDHS comprises 4 Operating Theatres, 24-hour Emergency Department, Day Surgery Unit, Maternity, Neonatal, HDU, Palliative Care, Medical and Surgical Services as well as extensive Community and Allied Health Services. The Emergency Department sees 30,000 presentations each year.
Obstetric and Gynaecology services consist of a 20-bed ward and a 4 bed Delivery Suite with approximately 800 deliveries per year. The unit is run as Consultant and Midwife unit with no Registrars. There is a 4 bed Level 3 Special Care Nursery.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Medical Practitioners for appointment to HDHS as a Visiting Medical Officer or Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The position will participate in an on-call roster, antenatal clinics, and theatre lists.
All applicants must have medical qualifications registered as a specialist with the AHPRA; Fellowship with relevant Australian College or equivalent; and possession of current medical indemnity insurance and proof of continuing medical education.
