About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail focused Quality Specialist to provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in best practice Laboratory Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QAQC) practices. You will monitor, analyse and report on the quality, throughput and reliability performance of the NAH, ensuring production related activities are conducted with adherence to required QAQC measures.
The role will report into the Superintendent Processing Services and is pivotal in identifying, prioritising and delivering improvements in quality and/or throughput to ensure we safely meet our busines plan.
You will help drive the strategic plan through the following responsibilities:
• Monitor, analyse and report on the quality and reliability performance of the NAH
• Providing feedback to training & execution leadership roles on adherance to approved procedures & standards
• Review of WINs, training packages & associated documentation to ensure alignment with OEM Engineering & Reliability team advice
• Embedding and sustaining quality control programs to monitor and control quality of maintenance
• Providing analytical insights and recommendations to improve the business through its planning cycle
• Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure engagement and knowledge of product quality requirements
• Leveraging from key internal relationshiops
• Develop strategic plans across the 6 month to 5 year plan
About You

In addition to demonstrated ability to consolidate and analyse information, you will have the skills and knowledge to provide critical thinking and a solution-focused attitude.
You will have access to technology that will enable you to work flexibly, which is key to BHP’s success in addressing the requirements of a diverse workforce. Key requirements include:
- Tertiary degree in Science, Engineering or similar (chemistry, geology, computer science, mathematics, statistics)
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability in a medium to large organization
- Strategic and analytical mindset to manage stakeholder relations
- Licenced in the use and restricted service of X-Ray irradicating apparatus (highly desirable)
- Experience with maintenance, fault finding and calibration of XRF spectrometers
- A working knowledge of HSE systems and daily implications
- Demonstrated proficiency with a laboratory information management system (LIMS) including identifying, developing and implementing improvement
Location
You will be based at our Newman Operations ‘Eastern Ridge’ mine site on a fly-in fly-out 8 days on, 6 days off roster from Perth to Newman. The Eastern Ridge mine is made up of several deposits and contributes to the overall ore production of the Newman Joint Venture hub.
