Southern Cross Care is seeking an experienced and dedicated Speech Pathologist to join our Residential Care Team at our Central office in Glenside.
About the role
As part of Southern Cross Care’s commitment to Healthy Ageing, we use a Multi Disciplinary approach to deliver excellent resident outcomes. This approach includes employing Speech pathologists who are passionate about the right to Healthy Ageing for all older adults and who have the clinical skills to optimise the intrinsic capacity and functional ability of our customers.
The key roles of our Residential Allied Health Team are:
- To be a pro-active member of a multi-disciplinary care team that achieves outstanding customer outcomes.
- Provision of high quality assessment and therapy services.
- Leadership within the Early Intervention Working Party, including case conferencing and problem-solving of complex care needs.
- Supporting residents on Recovery Pathways to bounce back from decline.
- Participating in the teaching and learning of Speech pathology requirements to staff and health care students.

Essential Criteria
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Membership with Speech Pathology Australia and the Professional Self-Regulation Program.
- Knowledge and ability to competently apply current speech pathology theory to provide holistic patient care.
- Ability to plan and coordinate clinical patient care.
- Ability to make sound decisions and accept responsibility for own practice.
- Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Quality Improvement process.
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to speech pathology practice.
