A unique and exciting opportunity exists for the Speech Pathologist - Senior to deliver high level Speech Pathology clinical services and leadership within the Women's & Children's Directorate, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health (SCHHS).
Our vision is to provide contemporary multidisciplinary, evidence based allied health programs and models of care that are suitably resourced and skilled to work across acute, post-acute and child development programs. We are committed to work within the Directorate to support the expansion of community programs and promote the delivery of locally based services across the HHS.
Live, work and play on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Join an expanding Health Service with a culture of innovation, education, training and research, with facilities across the Sunshine Coast including the University Hospital at Birtinya.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver independent high-level paediatric speech pathology clinical practice in the field of developmental paediatrics with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. This role is focussed on developmental assessment, rather than therapeutic intervention, and usually short-term involvement with our families.
- Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Undertake clinical governance activities, such as the development of clinical practices and guidelines that support the continuum of care.
- Provide clinical advice and education to professional and operational teams, relevant service managers and other stakeholders regarding service delivery, utilising high level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
