Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Hybrid Cloud Networks

  • Role type: Permanent / Ongoing, full-time opportunity
  • Salary: DCS Grade 11/12, base salary starting at $134,411 - $155,445 plus 10.5% superannuation and leave loading
  • Location: Sydney, flexible working arrangements available

Government Technology Platforms (GTP) is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their team.

About you:

To be successful in the role, you should have:
  • Experience as an infrastructure architect across a broad range of business domains.
  • Ability to build enterprise models
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of secure infrastructure environments
  • Experience in assisting with vendor management including the management of SLAs, compliance and ticket triaging.
  • Experience in assisting in the management of customer accounts, including cost management and reporting
  • A strong background in development, support and integration of both traditional and modern ICT infrastructure and cybersecurity including virtual platforms, networking and software
  • Experience and knowledge in using a service delivery framework such as ITILv3 or 4
  • Good communication skills with vendors, management and peers
  • Strong analytical reasoning to assist in effectively identifying strengths and weaknesses in solution designs and projects
Your day-to-day

Key accountabilities include:
  • Leading end-to-end product development through build, release, maintenance and enhancement of product features, to deliver high quality products, systems, processes, technologies and/or services which are thoroughly tested and optimised
  • Leading the provision of specialist advice and expertise to enhance the quality of solution design, including participating in discovery process with cross-functional teams, to deliver valuable working software for customers in alignment with the ICT / Digital strategy for the Organisation
  • Leading the design and iterative testing processes of products and/or systems, to ensure compliance against agreed standards and guidelines to improve the quality of code and reduce operational risk
  • Developing and enhancing developer practices and culture to enable high performance of ICT / Digital product, systems and/or network development that supports the product roadmap • Contribute to defining and managing technology changes within and across the function incorporating evolutionary design principles that optimise outcomes and contribute to a best practice business function in line with organisational and government priorities
  • Driving a greater level of efficiency through optimising the utilisation of current and future system requirements to enable a more secure, cost efficient, customer-oriented, and expedient ICT / Digital capability
