Undertake a range of community engagement and risk communication functions to support the organisation’s engagement strategies in order to minimise impacts and maximise benefits for the community, the organisation and the effective delivery of projects.
Key Accountabilities

- Manage stakeholder risks
- Develop and deliver risk based stakeholder engagement strategies to support the delivery of the organisation’s projects, particularly capital and business development
- Contribute to the development and delivery of engagement strategies for high risk projects
- Participate in project teams and provide stakeholder engagement advice and support to assist with management of the organisation projects
- Facilitate and support meetings, including community forums and internal briefings, to support stakeholder involvement in projects
- Liaise with the community, including customers, contractors and other stakeholders, to ensure the sharing of information to support project delivery and the enhancement of the organisation’s reputation
- Champion the voice of the customer for continually improved outcomes
- Develop, distribute and file communication materials (e.g. letters, newsletters, brochures, reports) to support engagement activities and the timely delivery of projects
- Maintain project related databases for the purposes of recording and managing stakeholder information
- Appropriately influence project outcomes by providing a communication link between stakeholder and project decision makers
- Demonstrate the benefits of sound stakeholder engagement practices to project teams and other parts of the business
- Provide a range of engagement support services to Senior Stakeholder Engagement Advisors
- Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Social Planning, Community Development, and/or equivalent experience in stakeholder engagement or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
- Effective liaison and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of State and local government, Parliamentary process and requirements
- Experience working on projects in infrastrure, utilities and natural resources is desirable.
- Flexible hours and some after hours as required, some intra and interstate travel (mandatory)
- You will be required to undergo initial and subsequent medical clearances and immunisations as relevant to your position, to ensure your safety in performing the inherent requirements of your role, including but not limited to: Covid-19, Hepatitis A/B, Q Fever and Flu (mandatory)
- Depending on the role you will be required to undergo initial and/or subsequent clearance checks to ensure your ongoing suitability for the role. These may include a criminal police check, traffic check, Working with Children and/or Working with Vulnerable People (mandatory)
- You will be required to hold a current driver’s licence at all times
- To achieve and maintain a current working with children clearance
