The Opportunity
Joining Mt Hope Station as a Station Hand offers a unique experience for a motivated individual with a proven background and passion for livestock. This role is well-suited for someone in their 2nd or 3rd Year with hands-on experience and their own Working Dogs. Couples will also be considered. The position presents an excellent opportunity to expand your skills in IT farm systems including Agri Webb, Farmbot and electronic ear tagging. You will be provided with ongoing training and mentorship.
Duties include:
* Stock work and animal husbandry with goats
* Mustering with motorbikes/buggies
* Fencing and water runs
* Livestock processing
* Vehicle maintenance
* Tractor driving
* Feeding livestock
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Station Hand, with at least 2nd or 3rd-year knowledge.
* Competency in operating farm machinery and equipment.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
* Passion for agriculture and commitment to sustainable farming practices.
* Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
