You will play a significant role in the smooth running and efficiency of our new Day Hospital. You will be responsible for providing best-in-class services to our patients undertaking gynaecology/fertility, ophthalmology, plastics, and dental procedures. You will also maintain a professional standard of practice for all services provided.
The Sterilisation Technician will be responsible for:
- providing Day Hospital services for patients undertaking surgical procedures;
- providing support services to medical and nursing team members providing surgical and clinical care to patients;
- assisting in cleaning, inspecting, packaging, sterilising, and distributing of instruments used for surgical procedures in accordance with polies, procedures and standards;
- assisting in implementing processes for documentation, within scope of practice;
- complying with appropriate work practices to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment; and
- evaluation of the standards of services provided
You will be sensitive to the needs of patients and will be a passionate team player who has a commitment to quality, best practice, and workplace safety. Ideally, you will bring the following:
- Previous experience as a Sterilisation Technician in a fast-paced environment (essential)
- Certificate in Sterilisation Technology/Services
- Experience in either one or a combination of gynaecology, fertility, ophthalmology, plastics, or paediatrics (advantageous)
- Knowledge of healthcare quality systems, accreditation processes and regulation
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Genuine desire to provide best-in-class patient care
- Flexible, can-do attitude
- Time management skills with an ability to cope under pressure
