Main duties and responsibilities
- Monitor stock levels and maintain stock while also ordering and keeping a record of inventory.
- Manage and maintain the storage conditions of goods received.
- Coordinate retail space activities, dispose of trash and manage the cleanliness of the storeroom.
- Provide customer service since they work in a visible space on the floor while arranging merchandise.
- Stock the shelves of the warehouse with goods and keep inventory.
- Receive merchandise that comes into the warehouse and ensure that the merchandise is unloaded and stored according to established procedure.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the store and enhance the appearance of the store by adopting the most appropriate display techniques.
Qualifications and work experience
- 1 -2 years relevant work experience
- Demonstrated understanding and willingness to provide excellence in customer service and stock replenishment
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 20 KGS, as many stockroom items are cumbersome and heavy
- Experience working in a fast-paced sales environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high level of physical exertion for extended periods and working primarily while standing
- Experience with software such as Microsoft Excel and other company spreadsheet programs
- Typing and record keeping skills essential to maintaining accurate information for managers and supervisors regarding stockroom inventory
- Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance
- Personal accountability and integrity are essential, as a Stock Clerk has access to valuable inventory
- Experience working safely with stockroom ladders and tools is preferred
- Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized stockroom
