Store Person - Furniture Installer

Role Objectives:

The Store person is responsible for the physical dispatch, receipt and internal movement of stock in a safe and efficient manner with a focus on upholding work standards and providing excellent customer service, also they will be required to assist with furniture installations. 

Skills/ Competencies 

·         Physically fit and able to work manually. Ability to use power tools and hand tools. 

·         Warehousing experience desired, but not essential.

·         Ability to communicate, both internally and externally.

·         Proactive working style which demonstrates initiative, and an ability to work with and motivate others.

·         Results oriented – keen to progress plans and achieve tangible results.

·         Confident, pleasant and professional at all times.

·         Ability to meet set deadlines.

·         Capable of organising own time.

·         Capable of working under pressure.

Duties and Responsibilities

Stock Movement &

Manual Handing

·         Loading and/or unloading of vehicles and/or trucks in a safe and timely manner.

·         Responsible for receiving, storing, assembling, packing and/or unpacking of goods as well as delivering goods from the store.

·         Accept incoming stock and report any discrepancies in paperwork or damage to stock promptly.

·         Operate supplied equipment with due care, in accordance with set safety procedures and ensure that the equipment operational procedures are adhered to.

·         Assist in the prevention of costly breakdowns by following equipment start up procedures and reporting any faults or damage.

·         Complete tasks as directed.

Computer Operation

·         Learn & use the provided stock management systems.

·         Pick and receipt orders.

Stock Check

·         Perform routine and ad-hoc stock counts as needed.

·         Participate in stocktake.

·         Routinely ensure that stock is stored in a logical order in a way that maximises the shelf life of the item.
