About the Role:
The Strategic Procurement Manager will be responsible for the development of the procurement and supply chain strategy, policies and procedures and establishment of a streamlined procurement and commercial framework for the Rivergum Homes Group.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead supplier negotiations and finalise supplier and labour contract agreements
- Working in conjunction with the purchasing officer, oversee the maintenance and integrity of the cost-control process to ensure an up-to-date price book and the bills of quantities for each home are aligned to pricing and variances are within agreed levels
- Identify and manage commercial and procurement risks and liabilities Develop best-practice procedures and processes which deliver operational efficiencies, compliance, and cost benefits for Group
- Oversee the procurement strategy relating to construction function of the business and drive supporting initiatives with key suppliers and service providers
- Build long-term, strategic, and sustainable supplier relationships
- Proactively manage the performance of suppliers to achieve contract requirements relating to scheduling, costing and quality perspectives
- Provide support and advice to achieve the best possible contractual terms in key supplier agreements and purchasing / procurement related activities
- Prepare monthly reports for the CFO on financial and operational performance
- Proven experience in a Procurement role or as a Senior Building Estimator, or a background in manufacturing, building and supply material (residential or commercial)
- Knowledge of and experience in purchasing and procurement principles and methods including procure-to-pay processes, buying, quality assurance, contract administration and contract law
- An understanding of residential construction techniques and operational management, building codes and legislative requirements.
- Proven experience interpreting purchasing needs and making decisions on the acquisition of building construction materials and stock
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions under pressure and manage changing priorities
- Knowledge of finance and budgeting practices as they apply to procurement
- Ability to develop relationships, with excellent communications and negotiation skills
- A tertiary qualification in building, commerce, business administration or relevant qualification.
- A Current National Police Check or willing to obtain one
