About the Role

Due to the acquisition of new contracts and continued business growth we have an immediate requirement for an experienced Strategic Sourcing and Contracts Officer to join our client on a contract based employment until September 2023 in their Logan Central office.

An overview is the below;

• Support the delivery of high-quality procurement and contracts management services across Council
• Provide technical procurement support and advice, ensuring that all procurement and purchasing requests are actioned in a timely manner
• Source information relating to current contracts through performance of audits and engagement with contract users.
• Act as the dedicated point of contact for delegated branches with relation to quotations and general procurement activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Demonstrated procurement experience – preferably in large organisation or local government entity

Comprehensive understanding of relevant procurement legislation

• Diploma of Government (Procurement & Contracting), or similar, would be highly desirable.
• Knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of a Finance or Procurement Software system
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with colleagues and external parties.
• Ability to work with limited supervision, independently or as part of a team
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks
