About the Role
The strategy team create and lead environments where leaders and their respective teams can successfully debate, challenge and make informed 'smart' strategic decisions supported by external and internal insights
Working with the Head of Strategy (AWM and Bank), you will be supporting the CEO Australian Wealth Management, the CEO AMP Bank, and their leadership teams to develop their respective strategies. With your market analysis and knowledge you will provide Board, CEO and Investor Relations with the market insights and competitor activities.
More specifically your responsibilities will include:
- Support the ongoing development and assessment of future strategic options for Australian Wealth Management and AMP Bank through the creation of smart, robust, actionable and value-creating strategies and portfolio options
- Provide active thought leadership and challenge on strategic issues relevant to AMP's portfolio of businesses
- Input into the Group strategic planning process
- Assist the Head of Strategy to implement increasingly sophisticated strategy disciplines in the business (e.g., scenario planning, competitor analysis, portfolio strategy etc.)
What we look for in you
- Tertiary qualifications within a relevant business discipline
- At least 6 years' experience in financial services and the formulation and design of strategy
- Excellent report writing, presentation and verbal communications skills
- Proven analytical capability
- Experience in establishing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships along with negotiation and influence skills
- Ability to work within an environment that deals with complex / ambiguous problems and competing demands
- Commercial acumen with demonstrated business case planning skills
