The candidate will ideally have experience in mining process plants and surface materials handling facilities and would participate in a wide range of projects. In addition, experience in the coal mining environment will be an added advantage. Other possible areas of expertise may include bridges, retaining walls, culvert structures, liquid retaining structures, pump stations, marine and intake structures. The ideal candidate will maintain coordination with drafts people and engineers within the discipline and of other disciplines.

As the successful candidate, you will
- Assist the Lead Stuctural Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope quantities, cost and schedule.
- Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D CAD software required.
- Perform conceptual layout work uunder the supervision of the Lead Structural Engineer
- Develop detailed design and production of structural drawings encompassing all aspects of a mine underground and surface facilities in accordance with relevant standards and project requirements.
- Equipment and layout capabilities for studies, feasibilities and final design.
- Incorporate safety in design.
You have an Engineering diploma (N Dip) or equivalent (Civil/Stuctural), combined with knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to design and systens related to mining and/or infrastructure projects. You are proficient in the use of 3D CAD software packages such as Bentley MicroStation Structural Packages and you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You have an appreciation for the importance of safety and a good understanding of mechanical/structural technology. Your work is both efficient and accurate and you take a methodical approach to allocated work areas. You are also comfortable operating in either a team enviroment or independently.
