About the role



This is a temporary part-time role (21 hours per week over 3 days) for a period up to 12 months.


We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Arboriculture student, interested in pursuing a career in local government, to join our team as a Student Landscape/Tree Management Project Officer.


In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in project teams that contribute to complex and diverse development projects. On a daily basis, you will be responsible for providing development and tree permit application advice as well as sharing in the assessment of tree protection plans and landscape plans in the development application process and may also include regulatory aspects of tree permit assessment.

We are excited to hear from Arboriculture students who are team players, results driven and work with initiative. You will be interacting with a range of stakeholders, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills is a must. We are also eager to meet students who can demonstrate highly developed planning, problem solving and time management skills.

This role is best suited for Arboriculture students or Landscape Architect/Design students with arboricultural experience enrolled at TAFE or University (or equivalent) and are nearing their final year of study (undergraduate).
