Yurika has multiple opportunities for Substation Technicians and are inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates.
These are Queensland-based roles with extensive travel requirements within Australia (fly in, fly out / drive in, drive out). Applicants must be prepared to work away from home on a 10/4 fortnightly roster and work a reasonable amount of overtime if required.
The role:
Substation Technicians are highly skilled tradespersons performing construction, maintenance and repairs to a wide range of complex substation plant and associated equipment, within a team environment using specialist technical skills to successfully deliver on Yurika projects located across Australia as required including private electricity networks, equipment and assets.
Applicants must have trade qualifications as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic and hold a current Australian electrical fitter mechanic licence. Additionally, applicants will have:
- General Construction Induction card
- Current C class open drivers licence is essential, with a MR or HR licence desirable
- Experience in high voltage testing, construction and/or maintenance is highly advantageous
- Relevant industry experience in the installation, repair, commissioning, and maintenance of HV and substation equipment
- Experience working within substations with some exposure to HV switchgear & operating equipment
- Experience at 132kV, 275kV and 500kV will be well regarded
- Experience installing substation equipment, power cabling and control cabling
- Working knowledge of Energy Queensland and Yurika policies, procedures and safe work practices is desirable

Additionally, external applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment medical , and this will be organised at the interview stage where applicable.
The position has been evaluated as Technical Service Person Grade Three (TSP3) . Remuneration will range from $88K to $91K per annum plus allowances and superannuation. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant's knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in these positions. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.
