About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager Fixed Plant, this is an opportunity for a professional who has experience in maintenance and/or operational management to provide direct leadership to Supervisors, Coordinators, Planners and Technical Specialists. The role will include overseeing compliance to processes and systems associated with allocating resources for planned and unplanned maintenance work within our Coal Mining Operation at Goonyella Riverside. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to lead through adversity will underpin your enthusiasm to drive performance improvement.
The Ideal candidate is a natural coach and has a track record of nurturing and developing teams. A curiosity and a technical aptitude to manage risk in a maintenance context will be well regarded for this role.
- Overarching commitment to safety
- Create a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing, and coaching your team;
- Mentor and set the standards around safety, field leadership, hazard reporting and continuous improvement
- Demonstrate understanding and alignment with our people leadership processes, 1:1's, development plans, training plans and supportive leadership
- Monitoring the application of Maintenance Execution processes within the team
- Listen to the “Voice of the Customer” and operate in a proactive manner and work collaboratively and effectively with key stakeholders across site
- Provide input into planning processes with a focus on continuous improvement;
- Contributing to the preparation of the inputs to form the Maintenance budget.
- Providing feedback to the Maintenance Reliability team on equipment capability assumptions.
- Have ownership of improvement projects;
- Utilise your persuasive communication and collaboration skills and ability to work across various stakeholders;

In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
- Solid understanding of maintenance processes & practices (Engineering and/or trade qualifications are desirable, however not essential) with the ability to deliver outstanding results in asset maintenance & execution.
- A forward-thinking leader with a strong focus on safety, inclusion and diversity, productivity and maximizing the benefit of technology.
- Previous experience in leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary diverse teams through effective communication coupled with strong operational discipline is required for the success of this role
