About the Role

The purpose of this role is to lead the Strategy Optimisation - Port Rail and Plant team for the East coast.

Reporting to the Manager Strategy Optimisation - Port Rail Plant (PRP), this role will lead a team responsible for driving improvement of maintenance strategies across a range of fixed plant, processing and ore handling plants, to enable safe execution and reliable performance across the business.

This role will incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders, defect elimination processes and business plans to define and implement the required strategies, enabling our business objectives and goals. In this role you will:

  • Lead a team on the implementation of improvement initiatives that optimise maintenance cost and equipment reliability to support the business plan.
  • Apply appropriate business processes to manage optimisation efforts such as Master Data Request (MDR) process, Management of Change (MOC) and Continuous Improvement tracking (WAVE).
  • Build team capability and support the generation and implementation of team's members development plan to enable their professional growth.
  • Build collaboration with Operations, Supply, Finance, Operational Services (OS), BOS-Standardised Work, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and other MECoE groups to optimise maintenance performance.
  • Optimise TES (Total Equipment Strategies) and Asset Level Strategies by working with Planning, Data Analytics, Defect Elimination and Execution sub-functions in order to keep relevant, efficient and accurate.
  • Oversee the strategy governance process to ensure the integrity of the TES (Total Equipment Strategies) and Asset Level Strategies are maintained.
  • Manages business wide product problems directly with the OEMs to ensure solutions are identified and implemented throughout the business
The role gives you the opportunity to develop a team of highly skilled maintenance professionals who will influence how BHP maintain its core fixed plant and processing equipment.

About You

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
  • Demonstrated experience in leading technical maintenance teams with desirable field experience related to fixed plant equipment and/or functional support experience.
  • Proven background in maintenance strategy management, reliability analytics and/or defect elimination.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder influencing capabilities.
  • Team player who promotes and supports workplace diversity.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and be passionate about delivering extraordinary results.
Location

In this full-time permanent position, you will base at our Brisbane or Adelaide corporate office and working on Monday-Friday roster while flexible work is also offered.
