About the Role

The Supervisor – Facilities Management will support the Manager - Facilities Management in fulfilling the Facilities Management function across WMQ with a focus on the assigned area of responsibility. This includes utilising effective leadership, organisation, dedication and experience to undertake appropriate tasks in a timely, professional and effective manner. There is an expectation that this position can work autonomously depending on the task and act decisively in managing work performance. 

Routine tasks associated with the position include: - Oversight of all Facilities Management including maintenance (both programmed and reactive), minor capital works and human resource functions. This role includes financial reporting, job planning, organising and supervising trades (both WMQ and external contractors) and planning of work schedules including liaising with facility staff and managers to ensure that agreed activities are performed promptly and effectively. A key requirement is managing staff and contractors on site to ensure WH&S and performance outcomes are met or exceeded.

About You

Essential:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the Facilities Management related functions and a minimum 5 years work experience in the assigned area of responsibility (preferably in a health care, campus or similar environment). 
  • Demonstrated communication skills (written and oral) at a level required to read, understand and apply practices, policies and procedures. 
  • Demonstrated conversational communication skills in a manner to be easily understood by elderly and disabled clients as well as visitors. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trade practices including task planning, SWMS development and oversight of function. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the use of power equipment including safe operation and maintenance. 
  • Willingness to co-operate with management initiatives & participate in area programs. Understanding and commitment to customer service, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). 
  • Current “C” class driver’s licence without restriction and preparedness to drive while working. 
  • Proof of Vaccination status as required by legislation, health directives or WMQ policy throughout employment and prior to commencement. 
  • Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ policy.

Desirable: 

  • Trade or tertiary qualifications, or demonstrable competency appropriate to the role. 
  • Ability to read and interpret financial reporting to enable periodic reviews of task performance. 
  • Knowledge of CCTV, Fire and Security systems and frameworks.
