We are currently seeking Support Workers to join our Residential Care team in Rockhampton. Our Support workers will assist young people from a therapeutic approach ensuring each young person receives individualised support and care to promote physical, emotional, and psychological wellness.
What will a typical day look like?
- Shift work
- Provide opportunities for children and young people to develop and learn life skills appropriate to their age and ability.
- Engage with young people to support them in all aspects of life, both in the home and wider community.
- Implement strategies identified in the care plan and participate in the review of care plans to ensure young people have clear, relevant, and achievable goals.
- Support planned contact and connectedness to family as approved by child safety services.
- Support social, recreational, educational and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Full COVID-19 Vaccination
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or equivalent or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required).
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) completed or scheduled prior to commencement of employment. Available through ACQ.
- Hope and Healing Modules (10 modules) completed prior to commencement of employment.
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
- Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
- Relevant experience in out of home care/residential care.
- A passion and genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of Central Queenslanders.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- The ability to identify and embed solutions.
- Demonstrated experience working within a high-performance framework where you are accountable for KPIs on program delivery and outcomes, within a face-paced solutions focussed environment.
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- A strong communicator, able to quickly build rapport and influence across a diverse range of people.
