Shelly's Swim School is located at Yeronga and Dunlop Park Memorial swimming pools. We have a fun and friendly environment which offers a number of programs to the community. We are currently seeking Lifeguards, Learn to Swim Teachers, Competitive Strokes Coaches and Customer Service staff.
Lifeguard duties include but are not limited to:-
- A high level of supervision across multiple pools to protect patrons both in and out of the water.
- Providing a friendly and compassionate demeanour to all patrons to ensure a safe, clean and fun aquatic environment.
- Adhering to all policies and procedures and WH&S across both facilities.
- Be willing and able to perform First Aid/CPR when required.
- Be willing and able to complete all required documentation (Incident Reports).
- Be willing and able to perform light cleaning and maintenance duties as required.
- Being responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of the Shelly's Swim School programs and policies and ensuring that resources are effectively deployed.
- Effectively communicating with students, parents and other staff members.
- Having a fun and compassionate nature while focusing on delivering a high standard of program that produces results.
- Provide a high level of communication in a variety of circumstances to swimmers, parents and other staff members.
- Demonstrate the ability to connect, motivate and drive any relevant party.
- Demonstrate a sound technical knowledge of swimming strokes and training techniques for an overall inclusive swimming program.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment.
- Display the ability to work and thrive under a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Display a high standard of organisation and time management.
- Providing a high level of customer service and communication to patrons and staff. A pleasant and cheerful personality can result in great public relations.
- Clearly communicating the policies and procedures of Yeronga and Dunlop Park Memorial pools and Shelly's Swim school.
- Being responsible for the efficient operation of the entry points of the complexes and being proactive with the supervision of all aquatic areas including patron safety, First Aid and emergency incident response procedures in cooperation with Management and Lifeguards.
- Performing basic reception tasks with regard to pool opening and closing procedures.
- Working unsupervised when needed and following the correct lines of communication with other staff members and management.
- It is highly regarded if an applicant has prior knowledge in using Links Technology correctly.
- Cash handling, collecting and balancing, accurately taking and recording personal confidential information and adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Bathroom checks, general cleaning of entry points and restocking retail stock when needed.
- Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative when needed
- Stellar patience, compassion and professionalism
- High level of communication and ability to deliver and present appropriate skills to both children and adults
- If not already a qualified Swim Teacher the ability to complete the qualification
