Systems, Compliance & Accreditation Co-ordinator
The Company
VSA Roads is an amalgamation of six independent brands that provide bituminous and quarried products, coupled with specialist contract paving and bituminous surfacing services, to the South Australian, Victorian, Southern New South Wales, Northern Territory and Tasmanian markets.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the VSA Roads Corporate Services Team based out of the Topcoat Asphalt (TAC) Business Unit located in Wingfield, South Australia. Topcoat Asphalt has two fixed asphalt production plants in Adelaide, one mobile asphalt production plant, a fixed crushing plant, 2 asphalt crews and a depot in Alice Springs.
Reporting to the VSA IT, Systems and Accreditation Manager, the role is varied with responsibilities consisting of the coordination and support of our systems, compliance and accreditation processes to meet the requirements of our Integrated Business Management System (IBMS), third-party ISO certification and aspirations for accreditation with the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC).
The role will be required to complete intrastate and interstate travel and some occasional out-of-hours work as required by the business.
Key Functions
- Facilitate compliance and adherence to the VSA Roads IBMS to support ISO Certification Standards and future OFSC Accreditation.
- Assist with basic IT support activities in relation to software systems utilised by the business as well as associated hardware.
- Lead audits and inspections to ensure compliance of systems, contractual and legislative requirements.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of documentation in accordance with the IBMS.
- Support the Business Unit to ensure relevant training is provided in line with the VSA Roads Training Matrix.
- Support operational staff to ensure that investigation of health, safety, environment, quality and risk investigations, identifying non-conformances, corrective and preventative actions.
- Lead all communications with any regulatory authority (SafeWork SA, EPA, etc)
- Assist the Topcoat Asphalt General Manager with reporting activities.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Cert IV or Similar in WHS / OHS.
- The ability to troubleshoot Information Technology issues and provide assistance for basic software-related matters.
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 / TAE40122).
- Driver licence – Car.
- A similar qualification and/or experience in Management System Auditor qualifications ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS4801/ISO45001.
- General Construction Industry Induction Card (CPCCOHS1001A: Occupational Health & Safety Construction Induction Card).
- Excellent Communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels (managers and personnel).
