Systems Engineer (PEX/LRSMT)

The Role
Location: Brisbane or Canberra
We are currently looking for a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join an agile software development team developing decision support tools (AusPEX/LRSMT) for the Australian Defence Force.
The AusPEX/LRSMT Systems Engineer will apply their Systems Engineering knowledge under the Sigma Bravo Engineering Management System to develop, and certify software systems. As part of a pro-active, hands-on team, they will work closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Software Developers, Software Testers and the Senior Engineering Manager.
Due to the nature of Sigma Bravo's work, all applicants must have the ability to obtain a minimum of NV1 Security Clearance (usually only granted to Australian Citizens).
Role responsibilities:
Requirement Analysis and Development
Verification & Validation (V&V)
Configuration Management
Development of System Design Documentation
Development of Certification and System Safety Documentation
Conduct and/or Participate in Technical investigations
System Testing (internal and formal)
Compliance with Defence Engineering Change Processes
Development, review, and approval of technical documentation in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
Support and advise the Program Manager with engineering and project deliverables
Coordinate and develop engineered solutions in collaboration with Commonwealth and development team.
Conduct security accreditation activities to accredit and maintain the system in accordance with Defence policies and emerging Cyberworthiness requirements
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Provide guidance, mentorship and assistance to team members as required
Communicate with technical and non-technical team members
To be successful in this role you will need the following essential skills/experience:
Four-year bachelor’s degree recognized by Engineers Australia at the level of professional engineer
Knowledge of Systems Engineering, System Safety and Software Certification processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to technical and non-technical personnel
Strong analytical skills with a methodical team focused approach
A willingness to learn, grow and be your best
[Desired] Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles such as Agile
[Desired] Previous experience working in / with ADF in an engineering capacity
[Desired] Experience using MS Azure DevOps
