Role Description - Our Client is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager with an understanding of technical frameworks to lead and manage a project. The role will oversee, plan, and ensure internal engineering working groups are conducted to support project governance and design within the technical standards and regulatory frameworks. This position will take a lead role in engineering problem identification and solution development across the project within the land program.
Key activities include:
Oversee system design and configuration documentation throughout the project lifecycle;
Support business case development;;
Participate on working groups;
Prepare and deliver briefings;
Lead technical engagement across the program and Department;
Supervising staff within an embedded workforce;
Oversee calculation of costs, material, labour, and time requirements for each project, ensure compliance with Commonwealth security and engineering standards;
Provide SME advice regarding network topology;
Required Qualifications and Experience
Undergraduate degree or relevant qualification and experience in engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or related disciplines;
Experience in systems engineering and project roles, ICT programs or technical force design roles, and program leadership will be highly regarded;
Experience leading delivery group roles, overseeing deliverables of project artefacts, providing advice on suitability and maturity for Commonwealth acceptance, and senior technical stakeholder management supporting tranche and sub-systems;
Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Program relevant databases and information systems;
Understanding of joint and domain-specific staff processes within an operational or tactical headquarters environment;
Knowledge or experience working in the capability lifecycle process, and governance structures;
Excellent organisational and leadership skills;
Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities;
