As the System Safety Manager for the UH-60M program, your role will be to provide expert SME advice on System Safety as part of the Engineering Management Team.

We are pleased to invite applications for the position of System Safety Manager to join our UH-60M Black Hawk team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Maintenance of system safety program plan
Conduct appropriate independent safety analysis
Outline system safety requirements for design changes and modifications
Ensure that safety concerns are addressed by UHSPO
Contributes/coordinates to Safety management under the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASR) Framework (DASR 21.A.3A and DASR SMS.A.25)
About you:
As an experienced System Safety professional, you will have significant proven experience in co-ordinating a Safety Program under the DASR framework. You will also ideally hold Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Systems Engineering etc.) from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry).
To be successful in this role you will also have:
A strong working knowledge of obligations under the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2011 [C2022C00082]
Experience in the provision of System Safety Management support for In-Service Capability
A Strong working knowledge of ‘Department of Defense standard Practice: System Safety’ [MIL-STD-882E] and its application to the lifecycle of a system
Ability to access/handle International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) controlled technology, data and information.
Special Requirements:
Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current or re-instatable NV1 Defence Security Clearance or be eligible to gain this.
The location of the role will be Brisbane, QLD.
