ABOUT THE ROLE
The Talent Attraction Lead is responsible for the design and delivery of the AFL’s talent attraction and acquisition strategy. The AFL has a strong focus on attracting the very best people from highly diverse backgrounds and this role will be instrumental in maximising candidate interest in pursuing a career at the AFL, establishing a strong talent pipeline for key roles and ultimately, converting candidates to AFL team members.

This role may be based in either our Melbourne or Sydney office.

This newly created role will attract a candidate who is dynamic, creative, collaborative, commercially savvy and results driven and has experience in creating a competitive edge for organisations through the creation of a compelling employer brand, exceptional candidate experience and capability build of hiring managers.

Every day will be different - from creating tools, guides and training for hiring leaders, to designing and championing our employer brand, building our attraction and sourcing strategy and establishing talent pools for critical roles.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
  • Development and delivery of the AFL’s attraction strategy to maximise candidate interest. This will include the development of the AFL’s sourcing strategies
  • Creation and implementation of the AFL’s Employer Brand - creatively articulating and communicating our employer value proposition externally, ultimately showcasing the AFL employee experience through candidate attraction channels.
  • Development of tools, guides and training for Hiring Managers and Culture Champions / ‘Bar Raisers’ (in partnership with the AFL’s Capability Development Lead)
  • Ensure the AFL recruitment systems and process are set up to provide a seamless recruitment process for both candidates and prospective team members. We’re currently undergoing a systems transformation project, so this will be a key focus of this role initially.
  • Supporting projects and initiatives to ensure the AFL is attracting and retaining a diverse and inclusive workforce. This includes recommending new ways of presenting the organisation in the market and creating solutions to current recruitment barriers.
  • Providing recommendations on process improvements to the recruitment systems (Success Factors) to enhance the candidate experience.
  • Manage external partnerships and suppliers, working with our internal teams to produce content that tells the stories of our people, and performing analysis and reporting on the success of our activities.
  • Working with the broader People team to understand upcoming hiring needs within the business, as well as talent pooling and pipelining.
  • Sourcing and creating strong pipelines and talent pools of candidates on various platforms such as LinkedIn, Seek Talent search.
  • Contribute to key projects within and outside of core role
  • Support and contribute to the success of the broader team

OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER
  • A strong track record in talent attraction, including experience in leading and implementing effective talent attraction and acquisition strategies
  • Experience in leading/managing Employer Brand/Recruitment Marketing initiatives, talent campaign management and candidate channel advertising platforms
  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills including the ability to influence, and build strong, productive relationships across the business and externally
  • Self driven with a high level of initiative – strong focus the execution of high-quality outputs
  • To be able to work autonomously and be self-driven
  • A data-driven approach and an analytical mindset
  • An excellent work ethic, a desire for continued learning and drive to deliver outcomes
