About the role:
Provide tax advice and services to various Managed investment / Property fund clients and provide tax related support and guidance to the internal teams in a timely and efficient manner.
Job Responsibilities:
The role duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
Update the general ledger and reconcile back to the source of truth on a timely and
Assist the Tax Manager in maintaining the tax policies and practices relating to the managed investment and other trusts/funds.
Work closely with the Fund accounting team on tax matters as well as provide guidance / support with other functions when required.
Ensure the technical adequacy of tax and tax-related processes. Review specific calculations, reports and returns on an as needed basis. This will apply to (but not limited to):
Interim and annual distributions /tax calculations for funds/LICs/Super/LITs.
Annual tax returns for various clients.
Business Activity Statements for various clients.
Sample review of AMMA tax statements prepared by Registry
Work closely with the tax agents, auditors, ATO and other external agencies as required.
Prepare the tax component split for unlisted trusts for the Fund Accounting team as required.
Assist with client transition in/out as required with focus on the open tax parcels.
Proven Experience & Qualifications:
CA/CPA (or equivalent)
At least 3 years’ experience working in funds management in the financial services industry.
Knowledge of Hiportfolio and an understanding of Australian Tax in funds management.
