Tax Accountant

We are currently recruiting for Tax Accountants to be deployed in the Shire of Kattaning.

The Shire of Katanning is centrally located in the 'heart' of the Great Southern. It offers the advantages of a rural lifestyle, with the convenience of easy access to the cities of Perth, Albany and Bunbury. While the area is essentially agricultural, the town is a regional centre with access to a range of recreation and leisure facilities, government, health and education services, as well as a diverse retail and business district.

The townsite is situated on the Great Southern Highway, with the main entrance framed by the picturesque and adventurous All Ages Playground and the newly completed Welcome to Katanning roundabout.

THE ROLE

Our client is seeking for experienced Tax Accountants to support them in delivering taxation and accounting services.

The role entails the following responsibilities:

• Preparing complete financial statements and tax returns
• Handling Tax, FBT, BAS, and payroll tax returns
• Communicating with the Australian Taxation Office
• Providing internal stakeholders with prompt and dependable information and guidance
• Staying current with applicable taxation and other relevant regulations and rulings
• Exhibiting strong interpersonal skills and effective time management.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The required skills and experience for this position include:

• At least 2 years of recent work experience
• Relevant accounting qualifications
• Proficiency in Accounting Softwares and Microsoft Office such as Xero, Quickbooks, MS Excel, and MS Word
• Experience in preparing complete financial statements and tax returns for various entity structures
• Experience in conducting in-person Income Tax Returns (ITRs)
• Ability to liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) on behalf of clients
• Strong time management and interpersonal skills.

INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES

1. Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Accounting and CPA/CA

2. Professional experience: Minimum two years

Please note that pathways to permanent residence are limited for candidates aged 45 years and over.
