Visit to learn more and join us in building great experiences together!Job DescriptionThe Analyst, Tax reports to the Manager, Tax. The Analyst, Tax will support the completion of projects under all assigned taxing jurisdictions for federal, state, and international tax. This position will be responsible for completing projects such as income tax compliance, planning, tax accounting, tax reporting, sales and use tax, and tax controversy.YOUR ROLE:Assists with the preparation of federal, state, local, and international income tax workpapers required for United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) reporting.Gathers data from company’s enterprise resource planning systems or other data points, calculates box-tax adjustments, conducts state nexus analysis, calculates state tax apportionment, reconciles income tax accounts, and calculates income tax journal entries to prepare for Generally Accepted Accounting Principles reporting.Collaborates with external advisors for preparation of federal, state, local, and international income tax returns and ensures compliance with relevant regulations.Assists with calculation of quarterly estimated income tax payments and prepares projections of taxable income and worldwide cash taxes.Assists the indirect team by filing monthly sales tax returns, including the preparation of calculations and workpapers in the tax reporting system.Maintains accurate tax records and documentation for internal and external audits and ensures Sarbanes-Oxley Act 404 compliance.Assists with tax audits by gathering necessary documentation and information and responds to audit inquiries under guidance from members of the tax department.Maintains the income tax due date calendar and checklists for the filings of all entities. Sets up new filings and generates reports, as necessary.Conducts research on tax issues and provides analysis on tax implications for business decisions.Stays updated with changes in federal, state, local, and international tax laws, and regulations.Supports tax department with as needed tax research projects and analyses.Assists tax department with developing and implementing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities.Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business strategies.Participates in the development and implementation of practices for efficient collection of information and preparation of tax provisions and returns.Assists in developing tools, processes, or systems for use by the Tax Department to gain compliance efficiencies and sustainable governance.Ensures financial integrity by following established procedures and company internal controls that are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), MasterBrand policies, Code of Conduct, and other applicable guidelines.Maintains professional and technical accounting knowledge through appropriate training and education.Develops in-depth knowledge of all MasterBrand strategic business units. Leverages ideas from other reviews and co-workers to provide value-added recommendations and best practices to others.Demonstrates teamwork by responsively collaborating with tax management and staff, sharing information and ideas, proactively seeking, and accepting constructive feedback.Consistently demonstrates the MasterBrand Way, positioning the company for growth and helping identify opportunities to reduce waste, complexity, and improve our work environment.Participates in company efforts related to ethics and compliance activities.Performs other duties and participates in special projects as assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 90% of the time and constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. This includes typing, clicking, and writing. Frequently positions self to maintain information in drawers and shelving. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information. Ability to read documents, emails, and computer screens, as well as see details on printed materials and presentations. Consistently works in an indoor setting.WORK ENVIRONMENT:This is a remote position with the ideal candidate capable of working efficiently and independently from their home office to fulfill assigned tasks and meet deadlines. As a remote employee the candidate will need internet connectivity capable of supporting virtual communication tools that allow for collaboration with team members, attendance of meetings, and participation in company activities. The ideal candidate will be required to set up and maintain a suitable home office environment conducive to productivity. This includes having a dedicated workspace with a comfortable chair, desk, and adequate lighting. The candidate is expected to travel 5% to 10% of their time to attend meetings with other finance personnel and to attend conferences. This travel will require overnight stays and may be multiple days in duration.QualificationsAn undergraduate degree in accounting.Certified Public Accountant (or Chartered Accountant equivalent), Certified Management Accountant, and/or Master of Tax preferred.Minimum of two years of accounting experience in a Big Four Accounting Firm or large public company tax department.Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley, income tax concepts, and accounting acumen.Positive, and solution-orientated attitude and approach.Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, enabling for effective, cross-functional collaboration required.Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to shape complex data into meaningful operational analysis.Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and manage a diverse spectrum of tasks and responsibilities timely.Excellent computer system skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting and tax software such as OneSource.Knowledge and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) consolidation, extraction and reporting tools preferred.
