Chester Hill High School (CHHS) is a comprehensive, co–educational secondary school situated in south western Sydney and is part of the Auburn Schools Educational Network. The school encompasses an Intensive English Centre. Chester Hill High School has a current student enrolment of 1377 (1215 mainstream, 162 IEC). The school is culturally diverse with 93% of students possessing a language background other than English. Chester Hill High School has 117 refugee or refugee–like students and a growing number of students with an Aboriginal background. The FOEI of the school is 165. All students are encouraged to achieve in an environment that provides academic challenge and artistic, cultural and sporting opportunities. Selection Criteria
Approval to teach secondary English as a second language or currently completing or currently enrolled in an approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a second language (secondary) as recognised by the NSW Department of Education.
Demonstrated capacity to utilise student learning data to deliver differentiated and culturally sensitive programs that cater to the learning and wellbeing needs of students across a range of abilities and diverse backgrounds.
Proven highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to work collegially as part of a team to develop quality teaching programs and a willingness to contribute to whole school and extracurricular programs.
Demonstrated expertise in classroom management pedagogy and wellbeing practices with the capacity to deliver curriculum to a diverse range of students.
