Karrinyup Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.

We are seeking team players; educators who work effectively in a collaborative environment within and across year levels. Reflective teachers who encourage, role model and foster environments of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. Suitable applicants will ideally display a contextual understanding of Karrinyup PS, outstanding interpersonal skills, an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. They should have an understanding of current effective pedagogies, embracing 21st century teaching and learning including flexible learning spaces and a demonstrated ability to support optimal student learning at a time when social and emotional health & well-being is at the forefront of a teacher’s day. Teachers will be expected to use technologies to maximise learning opportunities and enhance their teaching and learning programs supporting all students to become “Future Fit” Citizens.

Karrinyup PS is an Independent Public School established almost 60 years ago with a long history of educating children in the community. It is located within the North Metropolitan Region, approximately 12 kilometres north of the Perth CBD.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:
  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • meet the Department of Education
requirements; and * complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.

TRAINING

Employees will be required to:
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
