Position Information
Georges Hall Public School is a P3 school with an enrolment of over 710 students and a community that has high expectations. It is located in South Western Sydney in a low density residential zone in the Bankstown Local Government area. The school is set in expansive grounds serving an increasingly diverse, urban population. Currently over 88% of our students come from a language background other than English. The school has an ongoing commitment to the development and delivery of quality teaching and learning programs, with an emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy. This is achieved through a solid, strategic professional development plan for all teaching staff. The integration of technology into all areas of teaching and learning helps create a rich, engaging learning environment for students. An Opportunity Class in Stage 3 and a strong focus on differentiation supports gifted and talented students. Strong analysis of internal and external data sources is an essential part of school evaluation and planning processes. Georges Hall Public School is a happy and caring school community with a Support Unit. PAX is embedded across the school and there is a strong focus on wellbeing.
Selection Criteria
Approval to teach infants and/or primary. Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education with a demonstrated ability to manage the physical and digital resources of the library learning space, including the Oliver Library Management System.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to deliver explicit, innovative teaching across KLAs whilst promoting critical and creative thinking, digital literacy and a love of literature.
Demonstrated commitment to the wellbeing of all students utilising effective classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 24 months
