Position Information
Hampden Park Public School has an enrolment of approximately 880 students in the south west Sydney suburb of Lakemba. Our community represents over 40 nationalities with 99% of students coming from non-English speaking backgrounds. Our main community languages are Urdu, Bangla, Arabic and Indonesian.
The school provides excellent education for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and we have four established support classes with a new class opening in 2024. Our dedicated and enthusiastic staff focus on ongoing professional development and improvement, engage in distributed leadership practices and contribute to a culture of high expectations to ensure the best education for each student. We actively seek student and parent voice in building a positive school community. Our parent community has aspirations for their children to be confident, respectful toward others and successful learners.
Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience teaching students with complex needs such as moderate intellectual disabilities and autism.
- Demonstrated ability to utilise student assessment and other data to develop, implement and evaluate differentiated and innovative individual learning and behaviour response management plans.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a variety of teams and build strong and inclusive relationships with parents and members of the wider school community.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning and improvement consistent with school priorities.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
