Marsden High School has an enrolment of 1254 students which includes an Intensive English and a Support Unit.
The Support Unit has 2 Multicategorical and 1 Autism class. Students have Individual Education Plans and Personalised Learning Plans which are developed collaboratively with staff, families and external supports. The school fosters excellence through academic and social programs catered for student’s needs and works closely with families to maximise student outcomes.
There is strong community support as the school experiences growth in enrolment with the recent move into a new build within the Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct. Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience teaching students with autism, mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work collaboratively, and professionally with staff, parents/carers, external support agencies and the wider school community, to build and enhance a culture of inclusivity and excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, differentiate and deliver learning programs that support a diverse range of student needs through the use of evidence-based practice

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
