About the role:
The Team Leader Networks & Data Centre Operations is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of the Networks & Data Centre Ops team, you will provide effective and efficient management of day to day activities coordinating assigned Incidents and Requests to appropriate team resources ensuring that Service level targets are met and services meet the requirement of Melbourne Polytechnic.
Additionally, you will collaborate with all ICT teams providing expert advice and technical direction for ICT initiatives and projects related to Infrastructure Operations ensuring that the best fit and appropriate solution is achieved, and that appropriate technical resources are engaged and motivated in the development and ongoing administration a portfolio of business-critical services.
Operating within the Infrastructure, Development and Applications ICT sphere, you will collaborate with team leaders to achieve high quality outcomes for Melbourne Polytechnic, you will also work closely with ICT Heads of department and the Director of ICT.
Additionally, you will oversee the Melbourne Polytechnic ICT Services Data Centre's, infrastructure, data, cooling and power. As well as disaster recovery procedures.
Duties:
Provide leadership of the Networks & Data Centre team, coordinating allocation of ITSM Requests and Incidents for day to day BAU, and provide the primary escalation point for urgent or major Incidents.
Provide technical and operational oversite of all Melbourne Polytechnic data centres, ensuring that adequate infrastructure, data, power and cooling is available and optimised.
Actively participate in the overall implementation of the ITIL Service Management framework in order to provide the basis for continuous improvement in quality levels and cost effectiveness.
Accountable for ICT Services Disaster Recovery Planning and associated emergency procedures. Ensuring that DRP procedures are robust and appropriately tested in accordance with compliance testing.
Ensure that network and ICT security technologies and systems are implemented and supported
Skills and experience required:
Extensive knowledge of ICT Infrastructure systems and architectures obtained through formal post-secondary qualifications, or extensive work experience or a combination of both.
Broad technical knowledge and experience, in both hardware and software, of enterprise networks, datacenters, ICT Infrastructures systems, AV Infrastructure, ICT Security and associated systems and architectures.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to a team, creating an inclusive and positive team culture, with experience in line management, resource management, coaching, mentoring and staff development
Demonstrated knowledge of the ITIL service management framework and the ability to deliver services in a cycle of Continual Service Improvement.
Demonstrated ability to formulate a technical architecture aligned with the strategic directions of the business.
