Salary: $96,964.64 - $101,249.73 plus super (Depending on Qualifications and Experience)

About the opportunity?
The role of the Team Leader: North (Residential Services) is to inspire and coach their teams to provide the very best quality care possible for Aboriginal children and young people. This is a key leadership position within a program that cares for some of our community’s most vulnerable children and young people. It is the team Leader’s responsibility to advocate for decisions that are in the best interests of the child, ensuring a strong focus on connection to family and culture.
The Team Leader: North (Residential Services) will be responsible for 2 Residential Services homes, so will have 2 direct reports being the House Manager of each home. Each of these reports themselves has between 6-10 staff they are responsible for within their team.
Key to success in this role are the following:
Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally
Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children/ Demonstrated experience in child and family sector
Demonstrated leadership experience in child and family sector.
Demonstrated supervision skills and ability to conduct staff appraisals.
A sound knowledge and understanding of issues, policies, legislation, and practices in relation to child and family welfare and children in Residential Care.
A demonstrated ability to mentor staff by providing them with relevant information, support, feedback about their work, and opportunities for professional development.
A demonstrated capacity to work as part of a team as well as providing leadership to a team and capacity to allocate tasks.
Strong computer skills with ability to learn the relevant client data systems.
A willingness to participate in training and supervision as requested.
An ability to work flexible hours, if required
A degree qualification in Social Work, Welfare or related field is required for this role. You may be required to complete additional training to meet the qualification requirements for Residential Care.
Current COVID-19 vaccinations (minimum two doses and booster shot before commencement)
