The role
- Carry out maintenance and any minor repairs to equipment as appropriate or ensure relevant repair work is undertaken by appropriate technician.
- Performing routine maintenance procedures, battery maintenance and equipment installations.
- Ensuring equipment is operating within design parameters with respect to safety and accuracy.
- Assisting in the preparation of equipment used for demonstration purposes.
- Assisting in the maintenance of relevant technical records and technical reference materials as used in the teaching section.
- Assisting with the implementation of appropriate WH&S procedures in workshops and delivery areas.
- Undertake necessary ordering and stock control for the section including ordering of goods, receipting of goods, follow-up with suppliers and stock take as required.
This is an exciting new opportunity to be a part of the TAFE NSW Class Support team as a Technical Assistant supporting the Electrical Trades team at Granville Campus. This is a permanent full-time role.
About You
Working in a supportive environment, you will play a vital role in assisting with the delivery of educational programs. Your experience in a trade environment and well-developed knowledge of tools and equipment will be key in this role. Your initiative to identify and organise resources required by students and staff will deliver service excellence. You will enjoy working in a performance driven team with strong values and integrity.
To be successful in the role, you will need:
- An electrical trades qualification
- 2 plus years post qualifications trade experience
- The ability to work well in a team
