In this position you will maintain, and further develop, professional and technical skills to the highest level on all projects you contribute to, or undertake. You will also support the development and training of leading-edge technical skills and understand how to practically apply them in ways that add value to AECOM and its clients. As part of our ANZ Water Team, you will help develop and provide high quality, leading edge sustainable engineering solutions to our clients in wastewater treatment applications. You will be an integral member of the WA Water Team and have broader involvement across our ANZ and Global Water Business Line. You will have clear accountability for AECOM’s strategic, financial and client outcomes within the WI business. You will have key responsibility for:

Minimum Requirements
- To be successful in this role you will be a clear and confident communicator, with a keen interest in further developing your existing skillset but also broadening your experience across a wide range of projects.
- Technical expertise and experience in wastewater treatment process design including conventional and advanced wastewater treatment, biological nutrient removal (BNR), membrane bioreactor (MBR), odour control and biosolids management.
- Past wastewater treatment experience in Australia is desirable.
- Have worked on different stages of wastewater treatment projects i.e. feasibility study, concept design, detailed design; construction supervision and commissioning.
- Recently published or presented paper(s) in a relevant technical area would be highly regarded.
- Commitment to safety and understanding of OH&S best practice and obligations.
- Demonstrated experience working as part of a multidisciplinary project team on complex multimillion-dollar projects with responsibility for outcomes.
- Knowledge and understanding of procurement processes.
- Ability to provide strategic advice to clients and oversee procurement processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to develop comprehensive reports and submissions.
- Experience with administering contracts and overseeing the work of contractors, including negotiating variations and managing progress claims.
- Client focused and have established relation with Water Authorities in Australia.
- Knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and legislation in the related discipline.
- Knowledge of Carbon footprint and Greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting of WWTPs is desirable.
- Experience in consulting engineering or a similar local/state government role, with exposure to medium-large and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability work well in a team environment.
- Experience with leading a team would be an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or civil/environmental engineering (focused on water engineering).
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent is essential, or working towards.
- Proficient in using BioWin, GPSX GIS (eg. ArcGIS, MapInfo), AutoCAD.
- Technical Papers published in reputable journals over last 5 years.
