Job Description
As IT Manager, you are accountable for
Governing the availability & continuity of all IT services
Being the local point of contact for all stakeholders for escalated IT issues.
Ensuring that global standards, policies, and procedures are followed.
Managing the IT and network infrastructure.
Managing IT assets.
Responsibilities
Act as an ambassador for IT and promote central initiatives
Identify problematic areas and act on opportunities to improve and update software and systems & optimise performance
Design, develop and implement IT policy, procedures and best practices guides
Improve the cyber security posture & ensure compliance with cyber security standards
Develop, implement and test IT Service Continuity & Disaster Recovery plans aligned with the BCP
Act as an L3 escalation point for issues reported to the solution teams, including troubleshooting complex and/or critical problems & incidents
Run and share regular appropriate status and other reports to the CIO
Hold monthly review meetings with retail operations both in person and by a conference call for remote cities
Manage and facilitate IT projects and requests through delivery
Scope clear requests and deliverables
Liaise with users and other third vendors to gather required information
Ensure any change of scope is referred back to the solution team
Manage local contracts and agreements where applicable
Ensure tasks are allocated and being progressed effectively
Liaise with technical teams for most recent updates and gain an understanding of the outstanding deliverables
Ensure timescales are within reach and, if not, update reports to reflect the ability to deliver
Document meeting minutes and outcomes and ensure actions are completed timely and escalated where needed to line management
Maintain an active interest in the running of the project
Attend all client project update meetings
Be the contact point in case of delays, issues, or changes of scope
Service Management
Develop & manage the IT service catalogue provided to the business users
Define & review service level agreements across the catalogue of available services in conjunction with the business & ensure compliance
Monitor the performance of IT systems
Vendor & Service Provider Management
Manage local IT providers, and secondments and approve on-demand proximity dispatches
Conduct periodic performance and SLA reviews based on agreed contractual terms
Keep a solid working relationship with vendors & service providers and manage escalations as required
Manage billing, payments and contract negotiation as required in the country
People Management
Able to communicate effectively with internal business and different IT teams, and effectively make sound management decisions
Coach and lead the service local service team to constantly challenge themselves and display professionalism
The Successful Applicant
At least 5-8 years of experience in Snr Systems Engineer role/IT Management or equivalent
University graduate in Computers & Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
Proven record of delivering projects utilising Project Management methodologies such as AGILE, PMBOK, PRINCE2
Working knowledge of Cyber Security practices and management such as Essential 8 and/or ISO27k
Strong knowledge of IT networking (routing, LAN, WAN, WiFi, IPT) and EUC (End User Computing)
Functional, hands-on experience in server management and implementation both bare metal and virtualised (VMWare).
Detailed experience with Dell, Azure & O365, Mimecast, ESET and IT management technologies.
Experience with IT Service Continuity & Disaster Recovery
High level of initiative-taking with strong ownership
Substantial knowledge of IT support and operations
Experience in working within the ITIL framework, ITIL certification a plus
Service minded and a great team player
Great communication and presentation skills
Strong customer focus (responsive to users in any and all requests or issues)
High problem-solving capabilities and ability to deal with ambiguity often in combination with short deadlines
Comfortable working in a national and multicultural environment
People, contractor and vendor resource management experience
