About the Position
As Technical Officer – Central Australia, you will provide technical and administrative support for a range of teaching, operations and community engagement activities predominantly working with the trade disciplines at the Alice Springs Campus.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive TAFE – Central Australia, you will provide general and specific technical support including but not limited to the provision of technical advice and general assistance for students, academic staff; procurement processes and associated record keeping; managing or coordinating maintenance of equipment and application of safe working procedures in technical facilities and laboratories.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
A minimum of five years’ experience working in technical, trade or construction industry with demonstrated ability to work independently
Experience with trades equipment, heavy and mechanical equipment, technical workshops and/or technical related facilities and practices
The ability to work well within a team, cooperate and support others, and to adapt to a changing work environment, while maintaining initiative, self-motivation and discipline
Manual dexterity to perform job responsibilities i.e. operating, maintaining, moving or relocating equipment
Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills including the ability to deliver optimal client service, communicate clearly with staff and students through verbal and written mediums, and communicate in a culturally sensitive manner with internal and external stakeholders to whom English may not be the first language.

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Level 4/5. The base salary will be in the range of $65,168 - $81,617 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $76,246 - $95,491 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
