Technical Officer - Planning And Engineering Support

The City of Albany’s Planning and Engineering Team is looking for an enthusiastic individual to take up the role of Technical Officer (Planning and Engineering Support).

Reporting to the Development Engineer, this position would ideally suit someone who is customer orientated to respond to day-to-day enquiries from the public, builders, developers and internally. 

Of particular importance is the interest and ability to develop a strong understanding of stormwater management principles, and apply the City of Albany’s Subdivision and Development guidelines to set conditions for development applications and building permits.

The ideal person would also have good problem solving skills, and the ability to carry out site inspections and meet people to discuss their development proposals.  Although this role is more administrative than technical in nature, it will also suit someone interested in learning the foundations of civil engineering design for land development, and planning principles.
