Form of work Mackay Regional Council are seeking a suitably qualified Technical Officer to join our Transport and Drainage Infrastructure Planning team on a maximum term full-time basis.

About the role:
Provide assistance and guidance in the undertaking of Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) studies for defined traffic precincts within Mackay Regional Council, including carrying out public consultation, traffic engineering investigation, collection and analysis of data and preparation of concept designs.
Provide timely professional advice and information, prepare traffic engineering concept designs including an estimation of quantities and cost and maintain records in accordance with Council Policy of concept designs.
To assist the Traffic & Investigations Coordinator in the investigation of requests for traffic engineering investigations, analysis and concept design associated with cycling, parking, DDA, and minor traffic issues.
This position will be offered as a maximum term contract until September 2023.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
"Sound knowledge of relevant AustRoads Guides and Standards.
"Experience in investigating and resolving traffic engineering matters.
"Qualification in Traffic Management Implementation.
"General Construction Safety ‘White’ Card.
"QLD “C” Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.
