Join us as Technical Service Specialist for the Process Automation Business Area, where you will be ensuring the service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. Executing technical support, act as specialist, and solving problems in own expertise area. Proactively communicate both with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for Service growth.The position is based in Perth.
Your responsibilities
- Providing technical support and solving problems in own expertise area via remote or on-site service in any service category (installation and commissioning; maintenance; repairs; engineering and consulting; advanced services; extensions, upgrades, and retrofits; end of life services, replacements, etc.)
- Identifying new sales opportunities, proactively communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for Service growth
- Coordinating, preparing, and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities
- Preparing all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative and monitoring that reporting work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed
- Identifying potential equipment failures and proactive corrective actions. Troubleshooting complex equipment failure and makes recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future
- Determining effective service applications, equipment, and methods to develop, market or manufacture new service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost effectively
- Coordinating and performing specialist service projects in relevant areas internally and externally (e.g., create milestones, project plan, cost supervision, action steps, project reviews, project supervision) including all commercials
- Actively ensures that HSE practices are of high standard. Works to eliminate unsafe practices and incidents
Your background
- Engineering degree (or recognized equivalent) in appropriate field
- More than 5 years’ experience in multi-disciplinary electrical, automation and Control projects/service role, working with ABB 800xA Control System is desired
- Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes, and tools, including but not limited to 800xA, Symphony +, Infi90, MOD300, Advant Master, Power Management Systems, IEC61850 knowledge, Modbus Communication and Networking
- Advanced IT/computer skills including system virtualization, Active directory, SAP knowledge or experience, Microsoft Office, and MS Project, etc. Cyber security experience (Beneficial)
- TUV Functional Safety Qualified (Beneficial)
