WITRON Australia are now seeking Technical Services Specialists to join our team at Redbank, Queensland to support in technical operations and maintenance; coaching and mentoring of our local team; fault finding; continuous improvement and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical proprietary systems.

Ideal candidate profile
Minimum 3 years of experience in the following:

  • Troubleshooting and maintenance in production environments that utilize a range of mechanical automation and material handling equipment
Experience with electrics/mechanics in drive technology (motors/gears), control technology (controls/inverters), 3 Phase 400v, DC and 24v controls or knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical measuring (desirable)
  • Previous experience with material handling automation in an automated warehouse
  • Relevant qualification desirable
  • Excellent mechanical maintenance and repair skills
  • Practical attitude and ability to learn new skills
  • Good communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Excellent PC skills; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to mentor and advise electro-mechanical technicians in daily tasks
  • An ability to educate others and hold accountable for delivering of work to the required standard
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and public holidays as required
  • Willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally (and abide by COVID vaccination requirements for travel)
Physical Requirements including:
  • Frequent walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standing
  • Working at heights of up to 30 metres (wearing fall-arrest gear and other PPE)
  • Lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 25kgs unassisted
Desirable - A current Construction Induction (white card)

Your role in our team
  • Partner with local maintenance teams to review, analyze, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues related to functioning proprietary warehouse material handling system
  • Guide, mentor, instruct, and develop junior electromechanical technicians in the effective preventive and ad hoc maintenance of mechanical and electrical system for proprietary automation systems
  • Provide frontline leadership on the execution of extensive projects related to the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of proprietary automation systems
  • Support Maintenance Manager in the communication and implementation of new or updated maintenance standards and processes
  • Support the Training Manager in identifying knowledge gaps within the maintenance organization and assist in the development of effective practical training to actualize measurable improvements in team and system performance
  • Provide a full range of maintenance support (85% mechanical) across a broad range of systems, teams, issues, and conditions to ensure maximum system performance
  • Guide, mentor, instruct, and develop operational staff in all areas of Automation
