Summary of Job Description:
Provide expert knowledge and guidance on the relevant Industry Codes of Conduct relating to review of promotional & non-promotional materials and activities.

Conduct efficient and high-quality medical and Industry Code review of materials according to internal SOPs and external laws, regulations, and Industry Codes of Conduct.

Provide comprehensive specialised medical/scientific information, training, and advice to internal stakeholders on medical review processes, codes of practice and regulations for assigned therapeutic portfolio.

Major Responsibilities:
Support the development and review (medical and Industry Code) of promotional & non-promotional materials in collaboration with the Commercial teams and Medical colleagues in accordance with all relevant regulations and industry codes of practice for both Australia and New Zealand.

Confirm that key materials have been discussed conceptually between therapy area assigned Medical Managers or Senior Medical Managers and the material initiators prior to entering in the materials review system.

Support the Therapy Area Specialist Manager in driving a consistent approach to medical and Industry Code review across the business. Includes attendance of regular TAS group meetings initiated by the Therapy Area Specialist Manager or the Medical Affairs Communications Manager.

Ensure adherence of all activities to company and regulatory requirements as well as industry codes of practice.

Provide specialised medical/scientific information support to the commercial teams in defense of the brands, including response to Code complaints and initiation of complaints.

Provide training and guidance on industry/association guidelines and codes of practice to Medical and Commercial teams.

Support Commercial Teams and Commercial Excellence Training Supervisors, with medical/scientific training associated with products within the assigned therapeutic portfolio in collaboration with Medical colleagues and Product Managers.

Participate in cross-functional approaches to projects and product issues within assigned therapeutic portfolio.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments and published literature within assigned therapeutic portfolio.

Provide second line support if required, in the provision of specialised medical/scientific information to healthcare professionals and consumers.

Education/Experience Required:
Pharmacy or Life Sciences (e.g. Pharmacology major) Degree
Minimum 1 years’ experience within the pharmaceutical industry within the area of Medical Information/Medical Affairs. Experience in the review of promotional/non-promotional material and product training desired.
Medicines Australia Code of Conduct Continuing Education Program (CEP) Accreditation – Program 1

Essential Skills & Abilities:
Critical and thorough appraisal of the scientific literature.
Ability to search scientific information within the literature.
Ability to effectively communicate medical and scientific information to audiences with varying medical/scientific understanding.
Knowledge and understanding of the relevant Industry Codes of Conduct relating to review of promotional materials and activities.
Demonstrated ability for both problem solving and consolidation of medical facts and clinical data.
