To2/To3 Technical Officer (Goondiwindi)

Achieve Group are seeking a TO2/TO3 Technical Officer for our client in Goondiwindi.

Job Description
As part of this opportunity, the successful candidate will be required to perform the following:

• Collaborate with and support research agronomists and farmers to co-ordinate and conduct research to ensure timely planting, spraying, harvesting, application of treatments and

monitoring of sites. * Operate research equipment, and monitor and maintain data logging equipment (e.g. weather stations) at research sites.

• Collect and prepare soil, plant, and water samples including plant biomass, grain, soil, and other samples for analysis from field trials to characterise aspects of crop performance, soil health and farming system sustainability.
• Monitor crops and implement field treatments that include fertilisers, herbicides and insecticides in accordance with best management practice.
• Help maintain a central database of experimental results in preparation for statistical analysis.

Qualifications and Experience
Highly Desirable to this role are:

• Diploma, or interest in completing studies towards a minimum of a Diploma level qualification, in Applied Science or similar field from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Hold a current driver's licence.

Note: For international qualifications, the applicant will need their qualification assessed, to determine comparability with the Australian Qualifications Framework. The Department of Employment, Small Business and Training can assist with these assessments for Queensland residents.
Term of Engagement
This position is from the 5th February 2024 - 31st December 2024.
Pay Rate

• TO2: $43.57 to $51.34 per hour
• TO3: $54.34 to $58.64 per hour
