About the Role: 

This position sits within our Bundaberg Track team where you will report directly to the Asset Maintenance Coordinator. You will be responsible for leading two team’s across both the Miriam Vale and Bundaberg regions of trackworkers who are a supportive and engaged team. 

The Track Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the allocation and deployment of resources including personnel, vehicles, equipment and inventory to deliver safe, cost effective and timely track maintenance. 

 

Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include: 

  • Prepare and coordinate daily, weekly and monthly work programmes and ensure road patrols and other track monitoring activities are conducted 
  • Manage the workgroup’s resources and activities to meet work programmes and support the achievement of track availability and condition targets 
  • Conduct audits, arrange emergency response when required and impose, modify, review or report on speed restrictions, incidents or asset management as required
  • Manage the safety, training and performance for your team and assist the team in replacing sleepers and maintenance of the track when required

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies: 

  • Leadership: experience in leading and providing guidance to a small team with the ability to make decisions
  • Technical skills and knowledge – track maintenance: extensive knowledge of track maintenance, renewal and construction standards, systems and processes. This includes experience in planning and implementing track possessions 
  • Technical skills and knowledge – systems: intermediate MS office skills with the ability to learn new programs and systems quickly 
  • Stakeholder engagement: ability to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders through effective communication and negotiation 
  • Pre-employment requirement: hold a current ‘C’ class drivers licence
